Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry, Charlotte, NC. This position provides care for primarily medical patients with telemetry needs, including individuals with end-stage renal disease, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, wounds, and acute or chronic renal failure. The role includes caring for hematology and oncology patients without administering chemotherapy unless appropriately certified.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum 18 months of Medical-Surgical With Telemetry registered nursing experience; Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; cardiac rhythm interpretation; experience with non-titrating cardiac drips; medical-surgical care for patients with tubes and drains; intravenous (IV) start skills; blood product administration; and wound care and dressing changes.
• Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification or experience.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Typical nighttime registered nurse patient ratios are 1:6, with critical surge assignments of 1:78. Responsibilities include caring for patients with telemetry needs and managing medical-surgical conditions. Chemotherapy administration is not required. The role includes collaboration with certified nursing assistants, charge nurses, phlebotomy, intravenous therapy teams, pharmacists, case managers, respiratory therapists, nurse educators, hospitalists, and telemetry monitoring staff.
