Job Summary

Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position provides critical care nursing for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include managing critical care therapies, supporting emergency response activities, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license required for submission; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; minimum of 2 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience, emergency code leadership experience, and phlebotomy skills preferred. Experience with medication titration and electronic clinical documentation is beneficial.
• Schedule: 12-hour day or night shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.7:30 a.m.; 36 hours per week; every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) supports critically ill patients with conditions including sepsis, general medical and surgical diagnoses, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal. The role includes post-cardiac-catheterization recovery, management of titratable medications, participation in emergency code response, and care coordination with respiratory therapy and hospitalist services. Patient assignments generally range from one nurse to two or three patients.
