Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery, Mayfield, KY. The position provides nursing care for obstetric and newborn nursery patients in a labor and delivery department. The role includes 12-hour night shifts, occasional gynecologic surgical procedures, and an every-other-weekend or as-needed weekend schedule.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend or as needed, with call coverage as needed.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Active certification or licensure required to practice as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • At least 1 year of experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Labor and delivery or obstetric nursing experience, charge experience, and a professional approach.
• Additional Information: The department has 8 beds and serves obstetric and newborn nursery patients, with occasional gynecologic surgery and breast reduction or abdominoplasty procedures. Patient assignments follow Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) standards. Orientation is conducted weekly on Mondays. Scrub attire is permitted; casual wear is not permitted.
