Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor, Springfield, MA provides care for patients with newly diagnosed cancer, hematologic diseases, complications of treatment, and medical-surgical needs. The position supports chemotherapy administration, end-of-life care, and complex oncology nursing in a non-telemetry setting.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse; required chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card; comfort with central lines; knowledge of cytotoxic precautions; strong medical-surgical nursing skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of oncology experience.
Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week. Thirty-six- or 48-hour schedules may be available.
Additional Information: The position supports a 23-bed oncology unit caring for newly diagnosed patients with cancer, patients receiving chemotherapy, complications of cancer treatment, failure to thrive, end-of-life needs, and medical-surgical overflow patients. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:67 on nights. Chemotherapy-competent nurses administer chemotherapy on and off the unit.
