Description
The Cath Lab Technologist assists in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in a catheterization laboratory. The role includes preparation and operation of specialized equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, and assisting physicians in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The tech ensures patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes throughout cardiac catheterizations and related procedures.

Prepare and maintain the Cath Lab environment, supplies, and equipment
\n \n - \n
Assist physicians during procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and diagnostic catheterizations
\n \n - \n
Monitor and document patient vitals and procedural data
\n \n - \n
Operate imaging and monitoring equipment including fluoroscopy and hemodynamic systems
\n \n - \n
Scrub, circulate, and monitor Cath Lab cases as assigned
\n \n - \n
Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients and staff
\n \n - \n
Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols
\n \n - \n
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications under physician direction
\n \n - \n
Assist in emergency situations (e.g., cardiac arrest, code blue) with composure and competency
\n \n - \n
Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency call-ins
\n \n - \n
Accurately document procedures and patient records in EMR
