Description
=========The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) which cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually; procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) are discharged from this unit. The CVU also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies. Our NISUS research department manages many national clinical trials using CVU.The CVU has been awarded a Silver level Beacon Award in 2014 and was redesigned in 2017 by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). This accomplishment represents one of many significant milestones on CVU's journey to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care that could not be achieved without our exceptional RNs. 

About the Facility
Level 2 North is a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population consisting of general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and is the stroke unit for the hospital. It is a challenging fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses.Nursing on this unit is patient centered and focused on patient safety and delivery of quality care for positive patient outcomes. We value what each and every team member contributes toward providing excellent patient care that is evidence-based as well as holistic. Two North has an active and engaged Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) that promotes a healthy work environment of teamwork and positivity. New team members are welcomed and supported in their orientation, as they learn and grow in their professional nursing practice.Using clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication as guides, all aspects of patient care are addressed by our exceptional Interdisciplinary Care Team. These positive and progressive attitudes contribute to a collaborative environment involving all members of the Interdisciplinary Care Team to provide excellent patient care and positive outcomes.
