Job Summary: Observes evaluates and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies procedures philosophy and mission of the organization. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BSN: Preferred Registered Nurse experience with critical care experience or medical-surgical or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse RN licensure in the state of practice: Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS certification: Required Advanced Electrocardiogram EKG certification: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS certification: Required ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support: Required Hospital Fire and Life Safety HLFS: Required Essential Functions: Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient?s health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient?s situation. Connect electrocardiogram EKG leads and alerts doctor of any changes in patient condition. Records analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valves and other data. Monitors patient analyzes electrocardiogram EKG and hemodynamic parameter and reports to physician any changes in patient?s condition. Operates computerized MIDAS system with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for all patients of various age groups. Operates other specialized equipment: Datascope Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump IABP Baxter Cardiac Output Automated Coagulation Timer ACT machine American Optical Unistat Oximeter Medrad injector Life Pak Defibrillator Sony digital systems GE Advantx X-ray system. Collaborates with the team of patient family and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe healing humane and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients families and treatment team. Variable Shift - M-F start 7am, 8am or 9am (Staggered shifts). Call Schedule - anything after hours, days of the week depends on the week, 1 or 2 days a week, 1 or 2 weekends a month (every other weekend). Nurses float to the CV holding (Pre opp/post opp).
