Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatment sessions, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Texas
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Commitment to patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control practices
- Ability to adhere to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
- Involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development activities
