Key Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders and develop appropriate plans of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals as appropriate; provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required facility trainings and in-services.
- Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed; adhere to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts State Speech-Language Pathology License required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
- Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required.
- Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- New graduates considered provided they have completed a Level II clinical experience (not solely a Level I observation experience).
- Experience supervising CFY or student clinicians in a clinical setting.
