Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; monitor patients on set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, respiratory conditions, GI disorders, diabetes, CVA/TIA, post-cath, and total joint replacement
• Manage and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Participate in self-scheduling within a 4-week schedule cycle, including 2 weekends per 4-week period and rotating holiday coverage
• Float to additional campus locations as needed; scrub color is Navy Blue

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
• Experience with CVA and TIA patient populations
• Experience with total joint replacement patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
• Prior experience in a telemetry or cardiac/medical unit setting
• Familiarity with set-rate drip management in a telemetry environment
