Travel RN – Behavioral Health Emergency Department
Location
Asheville, NC
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Projected Start: 05/27/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with behavioral health needs in an emergency department setting
- Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment throughout the shift
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients experiencing behavioral health crises
- Adhere to facility protocols, policies, and regulatory standards related to emergency and behavioral health care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience working with behavioral health patients in an acute or emergency care environment
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be required
- Ability to meet facility credentialing and compliance requirements for travel staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an emergency or behavioral health department
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and behavioral health crisis intervention
- Experience in a high-volume emergency department environment
