Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team using evidence-based practice to ensure safe and optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across age-specific populations including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Promote continuity of care through effective communication with the interdisciplinary team and patient families as appropriate.
• Direct and oversee support staff in the provision of patient care.
• Apply critical thinking and sound nursing judgment with minimal supervision in an acute care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required; new employees must certify within three months of hire.
• Current ACLS certification required per education course requirements guidelines.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge and strong technical and critical thinking skills related to nursing judgment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Prior nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward patients and coworkers.
