Travel RN – Trauma Telemetry / Adult Med-Surg (Days)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult med-surg and telemetry patients on a 34-bed unit with day-shift ratios of 1:4–6
- Continuously monitor telemetry rhythms and escalate changes in patient acuity to the Charge RN, Rapid Response team, or provider as appropriate
- Perform and oversee unit procedures including IV fluids, IV antibiotics, tube feeds, and PEG feedings
- Collaborate with CNAs, HUC, and fellow RNs to maintain a team-oriented, patient-centered environment
- Attend shift huddles, adhere to unit clock-in/out policies, and follow all applicable facility and system-wide policies
- Float to other med-surg units and occasionally to the ED holding pod as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing (compact or North Carolina state license)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry, PCU, or med-surg setting
- Demonstrated telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and patient assessment abilities
- Effective communication skills and reliable attendance
- Current BLS certification (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR
- Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-acuity med-surg environment
