Registered Nurse – ICU Neuro (NSICU)
Location
York, PA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) | Every other weekend and holidays as needed | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intensive care nursing to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, including stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic) and neuro-endovascular surgery patients aged 18 and older
- Perform and manage ICP monitoring, EVD care, and post-angiogram/post-operative neurosurgery care
- Administer and monitor care following IV and/or IA tPA administration and mechanical thrombectomy procedures
- Manage patients on CRRT, mechanical ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Provide post-operative care for procedures including AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, craniotomy, and embolization
- Float to other units including ICU and acute care floors as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Strong hands-on experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, angiogram post-care, CRRT, carotid procedures, and embolizations
- Active RN license with no license hits (hard stop)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Willingness to rotate between day and night shifts is a plus
- Comfort and experience caring for COVID-positive patients
- Flexibility with scheduling, including hardship shifts as applicable to assignment timeframe
