Contract | Night Shift (4x12 Hours, 18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–20 week assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, and various surgical recovery cases
• Perform telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias via remote and on-unit monitoring
• Manage vascular access including peripheral IV insertion and maintenance, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA; manage feeding tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, wound care, and wound vac therapy
• Float to a nearby campus as required and participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience (hard requirement)
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Proficiency with dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with chest tubes, phlebotomy, pre/post hemodialysis management, isolation precautions/PPE, and oral suctioning

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification; experience with post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, post-MI care, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with tracheostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, accessing/managing ports, surgical drains, and ABG interpretation
• Background in CVA care, substance withdrawal management, bariatric surgery, and pre/post thoracic surgery
• Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital background, and proficiency with electronic documentation
