Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed SICU serving high-acuity surgical populations including cardiovascular surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA), trauma, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and general surgery patients
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 standard, 1:1 for highest acuity patients (e.g., immediate post-op cardiac, CRRT, MTP, OPO), and 1:3 for med-surg/floor-status patients
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips including epinephrine, norepinephrine, propofol, precedex, vasopressin, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, and milrinone
• Monitor and independently read and document patient telemetry rhythm strips using GE monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with in-house intensivists available 24/7 and respiratory therapy staff to manage ventilated and respiratory-supported patients
• Float to MICU or serve as patient observer within the facility as census and staffing needs require

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Prior experience caring for high-acuity ICU patient populations, including post-operative cardiac and surgical patients
• Experience titrating vasoactive and sedation drips in an ICU setting
• Ability to independently monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Must complete unit skills checklist and facility onboarding/CBT prior to independent practice

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current TNCC certification
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, or ECMO
• Background in a tertiary care or Level 2 trauma center environment
