RN LDRP – Labor and Delivery

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of all assigned patients in the Labor and Delivery / Mother-Baby unit
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients and newborns
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret findings in accordance with unit competency standards
- Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies utilizing ACLS and NRP protocols
- Complete MSE skills and competency validations as required by unit standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum one year of RN experience, preferably in an acute care or specialty nursing setting
- BLS (Healthcare Provider level – AHA or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS (AHA) certification required to be obtained within 6 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years
- NRP (AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required to be obtained within 6 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (or Advanced) certification required to be obtained within 6 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery or Mother-Baby nursing
- RN-C (Certified Registered Nurse) certification
