Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Contract | 13–26 Weeks | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 36 Hours/Week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias via telemetry and remote monitoring systems
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Milrinone, and Dopamine
• Perform sheath pulls, TR Band, and Femstop procedures; provide pre- and post-cardiac cath and pre- and post-cardiac surgery care
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and port access; administer blood products
• Float to other units as needed, potentially every shift; participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry AND PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring
• Experience with sheath removal, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery
• Active ACLS certification required
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
