LDRP Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (Variable Shift)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status for Labor and Delivery patients across the age continuum
- Implement individualized care plans in a knowledgeable and consistent manner, adhering to established procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Document patient care accurately via electronic medical records and/or paper processes in accordance with all applicable policies and regulations
- Delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient care activities performed by other caregivers, functioning as a care manager for assigned patients
- May serve in a Charge Nurse capacity, including patient assignment delegation, coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers, and serving as a unit lead
- Identify patient and family learning needs and implement patient education as defined by policy and care plans
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Washington State RN licensure
- BLS certification at the Healthcare Provider level (AHA or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
- AAP NRP Advanced (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required prior to the end of orientation and renewed every 2 years
- ACLS (AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course (or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring equivalent) required within 3 months of completing Labor and Delivery training and renewed every 2 years
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum one year of RN experience in a specialty nursing department preferred
- Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred
- STABLE course completion within 6 months of completing orientation (optional but preferred)
- RN-C certification in Labor and Delivery or related specialty preferred
