Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Neuroscience (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Weeks | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Rotating Weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care on a Neurosurgical unit, caring for patients with stroke, seizures, MS, and back, head, spinal, and other neurological diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures
- Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
- Float within scope of practice as needed across the unit
- Assume occasional charge nurse responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Medical Surgical and Neuroscience nursing required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Willingness to take on occasional charge nurse responsibilities
- Must complete an on-site FIT test; EPIC EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior charge nurse experience is helpful but not required
- Team-oriented, patient-focused personality with strong interpersonal skills
