Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a general mix of medical patients alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Work within an Observation/ER Overflow unit focused on rapid admission and discharge, with constant reassessment of patient readiness for discharge
- Maintain appropriate patient ratios; typical ratio is 1:4–5, with potential for up to 1:7 when working as part of an RN/LPN team
- Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed, typically approximately once per week based on unit need
- Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
- Complete non-billable orientation modules and annual self-reported compliance modules
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Willingness to work with a variety of clinical staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Flu vaccination documentation required; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Emergency Room (ER) experience will be considered in lieu of or in addition to Med Surg background
- Experience in fast-paced environments with high patient turnover and rapid clinical decision-making
