Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an adult acute care hematology/oncology inpatient unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Support patients in an intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU) as needed
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with unit protocols and certification requirements
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to other units within the facility per facility float policy
- Participate in orientation modules relevant to the oncology specialty
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or pending licensure (license must be in-hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required (must be obtained prior to start date; may submit with certification pending)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic electronic health records experience required
- Willingness and ability to float within scope of practice per facility policy
- Nursys verification required at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Prior experience in inpatient oncology or hematology/oncology settings
