Registered Nurse – PACU

Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor perioperative department supporting up to 34 operating rooms.
- Care for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical and procedural services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, cystoscopy, and CT/MRI procedures.
- Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures.
- Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as needed.
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed to support high-volume pediatric patient populations.
- Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and fulfill 2–3 scheduled weekend shifts per contract period.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or perioperative specialty.
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required).
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility address (as indicated on driver's license) – local travelers are not accepted.
- Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing; Critical Care Post-Op experience strongly preferred.
- Comfort and experience caring for pediatric patient populations in a perioperative setting.
