Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry / Neuro / Stroke unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Perform IV insertions and manage IV therapy as part of routine patient care
- Care for neurology and stroke patients, including NIHSS assessments
- Participate in floating, every-other-weekend scheduling, and holiday coverage as required within the contract
- Complete required pre-start modules prior to orientation
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia or compact RN license in hand at time of submittal — no exceptions
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- NIHSS certification required
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records — no exceptions
- Must pass an EKG/telemetry written test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt, no remediation); test covers rhythm identification, interval measurements, sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with neurology and stroke patient populations
- Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry interpretation and IV insertion
- Comfort with patient ratios of 1:7
