Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities.
- Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill continuing education requirements.
- Contribute to organizational performance improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, following through on action plans, and providing feedback through appropriate channels.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Texas.
- Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
- Proficiency in clinical reasoning, treatment planning, and goal development focused on patient progression toward discharge.
- Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal documentation and compliance standards.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in outpatient orthopedics; candidates with established clinical experience preferred (new graduates not preferred for this assignment).
- Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students.
- Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations.
