Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Neuro
Location
Boise, ID
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Medical Surgical Neuro unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4
- Care for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, spine and back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring
- Collaborate with Neuroscience NPs who are staffed 24/7 to support neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients
- Utilize respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs as needed, with RT available as a resource
- Float to support Medical Surgical areas across the Treasure Valley region as needed
- Participate in a unit-specific orientation consisting of two clinical days plus a didactic day with a unit-based educator
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a solid Medical Surgical or Telemetry background
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability and willingness to float to other Medical Surgical units as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with stroke, orthopedic, or spine patients strongly preferred
- Neuro-specific nursing experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with neuro intervention procedures and EEG monitoring workflows
