Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (0630–1830) and Night Shift (1830–0630) available | Every other weekend required | Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract period

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
  • Manage and titrate a variety of drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
  • Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight support
  • Care for patients with complex diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress, post-stent, and pacemaker placement
  • Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
  • Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in good standing
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability to titrate drips independently including cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips
  • Must pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of contract
  • Must be available to report to the unit within 30 minutes if called back in from on-call status

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel or contract nursing experience in an ICU setting
  • Experience with GE cardiac monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with a broad range of critical care diagnoses including vascular, cardiac, and neurological cases
