Job Title
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Oncology
Location
Bismarck, ND
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days (07:00–19:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Medical Surgical / Oncology unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including stroke, HTN, COPD, CHF, A-fib, chest pain, cellulitis, AMS, and surgical overflow
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy as core oncology staff; no on-site oncology provider during day shift
- Titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin per protocol
- Manage patients with established trachs with blow-by oxygen and stable BiPAP
- Utilize telemetry packs in coordination with on-unit monitor technicians; RN not required to independently read and interpret strips
- Float to other Medical Surgical units and assist with ER holds as needed; no mother/baby floating required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to titrate IV drips
- Comfortable working with established trach patients and stable BiPAP patients
- Willingness to adhere to every-other-weekend and as-needed holiday scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with trach care and BiPAP management
- Prior experience titrating Lasix drips
- Oncology or chemotherapy administration background
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
