Registered Nurse – PACU
Location
New Orleans, LA

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting 34 operating rooms
- Support all major surgical services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, and CT/MRI procedural cases
- Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, providing age-appropriate care across all patient populations
- Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
- Participate in emergency team assignments as directed by unit management in the event of a declared emergency event
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Ability to maintain a 1:2 patient ratio
- Availability for 2–3 scheduled weekends per contract period
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing strongly preferred
- Critical Care Post-Op experience is preferred
- Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations
