Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Nights)

Ottumwa, Iowa

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 17-bed Emergency Department serving primarily adult and geriatric populations with approximately 40 visits per day
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 while delivering timely, high-quality emergency nursing care
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using MediTech EHR
- Participate in call coverage to support daily volume and 24/7 department needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams across a regional health center offering a broad range of services including critical care, med/surg, OB, pediatrics, and more
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience, with at least 2 years preferred in an emergency department setting
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current ACLS certification
- Current TNCC certification
- Ability to meet all onboarding requirements including state background check (criminal and child abuse portions), mandatory reporter certification (child and adult), 10-panel drug screening including opiates, and titers within the last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience in a similarly sized regional or community hospital emergency department
- Familiarity with MediTech electronic health records system
