Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a mixed population of adult and pediatric patients on a combined Medical Surgical / Pediatric unit, maintaining ratios of 1:3–4 for pediatrics and 1:5 for medical surgical patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for adult medical surgical patients; utilize bedside monitors for pediatric patients in coordination with remote monitor technicians.
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including surgical cases (total hip and knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory laparotomy), medical conditions (MRSA, C-diff, COPD, pneumonia, COVID), telemetry cases (chest pain), and pediatric conditions (RSV, influenza, COVID, seizures, dehydration, appendectomy, failure to thrive).
• Administer high-flow oxygen to stabilize patients for transfer; assist with BiPAP for stable adult patients with chronic conditions as needed.
• Float to the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit and cross-train to float to the mother-baby couplet unit as census and staffing needs require.
• Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend), holiday rotation, and low-census standby rotation as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to assignment start.
• Experience working with pediatric patients in an acute care setting is required.
• Must be willing and able to care for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a mixed medical surgical and pediatric acute care environment.
• Background in labor and delivery, which may allow for additional float opportunities to that unit.
• Familiarity with mother-baby couplet care.
