Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Days (4x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13 or 26 week contract options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a team-based care delivery model alongside LPNs, CNAs, and virtual nurses on a 40-bed non-specialty Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving patients ages 18 and older
- Manage a diverse patient population with acute and/or chronic conditions including sepsis, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, cardiac disease, and post-bariatric procedures
- Administer and titrate IV drips, manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, and high oxygen delivery systems, including end-of-life care
- Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including care techs, transport, and paramedic/swoop staff to meet patient care goals
- Float to other units within scope of practice as needed to meet facility staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending RN license for the state of Nebraska (note: candidates without license in hand at time of submission will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting
- Experience managing titratable drips required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a Level I Academic Medical Center
- Familiarity with team-based care delivery models involving licensed and unlicensed interdisciplinary staff
- Experience with complex patient populations including post-bariatric, tracheostomy, and end-of-life care
