Registered Nurse – SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
Location
New Orleans, LA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care in a Surgical ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Deliver general post-operative care for surgical recovery patientsli>Support transplant recovery patients including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas cases
- Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic equipment including PA catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps
- Administer and manage Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Float to other ICUs and Step-Down Units as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SICU or related specialty
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (AHA-issued)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (address on driver's license used for verification)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with PA catheters and intra-aortic balloon pump management
- CVICU background including post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection care
- Familiarity with transplant recovery protocols across multiple organ types
