Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
Location

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Contracts Available | Every Other Weekend Required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks gestation and greater, as well as select high-risk patients under 16 weeks
- Manage double labor assignments as a routine daily occurrence in a high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit averaging approximately 20 births and 30–40 admissions per 24-hour period
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and deliver immediate newborn care
- Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
- Support obstetrical triage functions including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
- Float to the high-risk Special Maternity Care OB unit as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience; 3 years strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a high-volume setting with greater than 300 births per month required
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Current BLS/BCLS certification
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience circulating in an OR setting, particularly for obstetrical surgical procedures
- Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
- Prior travel nursing experience in a large, high-volume Labor and Delivery setting
