Travel RN – Labor & Delivery
Location
Houston, Texas
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients, maintaining 1:1 or 2:1 patient ratios as assigned
- Assist with and support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and PACU recovery
- Perform antepartum care and testing, including continuous electronic fetal monitoring
- Operate unit equipment including Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE core metrics FM, Panda warmers, CADD Solis epidural pumps, and NOVI wireless FM
- Document patient care accurately using CPN (Centricity) and Meditech EMR systems
- Adhere to unit protocols including Pitocin, cervical ripening, Magnesium Sulfate, Hydralazine, and Labetalol policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- OR circulation experience for cesarean sections
- Proficiency in placement of fetal scalp electrodes (FSE) and intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)
