Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Location
Boise, ID
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7PM–7AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 35-bed multi-specialty Medical Surgical unit serving bariatric, urological, colorectal, vascular, gynecological, plastic surgery, and medical patients
- Manage central lines, NG tubes, ostomies, drains, and foley catheters in accordance with unit protocols
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips via remote tele monitoring system
- Administer and manage set-rate drips including heparin as required
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and unit leadership to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios using an acuity-based assignment tool
- Float to like Medical Surgical units at sister facilities as needed; travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with central lines, NG tube management, ostomy care, and drain management
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Professional communication skills in a fast-paced, multi-specialty environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs) and foley catheter management
- Familiarity with bariatric, vascular, or surgical patient populations
- More than 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
