Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location
Prescott, AZ
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor, interpret, and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift
- Manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, respiratory conditions, GI issues, diabetes, CVA/TIA, post-cardiac catheterization, and total joint replacement
- Administer and monitor set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem
- Operate and manage respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments
- Float to alternate campus locations and PCU as needed and if qualified
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
- Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
- Experience with CVA and TIA patient populations
- Ability to work 2 holiday shifts across major holidays per scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
- Total joint replacement nursing experience
- Familiarity with post-cardiac catheterization patient care
