Contract | Nights | Onsite | Full-Time | Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Stepdown unit serving post-surgical thoracic and medical patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown assignments and 1:4 for combo assignments
• Titrate drips within MD-ordered parameters, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix
• Interpret and document patient cardiac rhythms with each assessment every 4 hours, or more frequently when titrating medications
• Manage patients requiring BiPap and tracheostomy care (no ventilators on unit)
• Work collaboratively with CNAs, charge nurse, and house supervisors to ensure safe, quality patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both required)
• Strong MedSurg Stepdown experience
• Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemption requests considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Valid driver's license with address located more than 50 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-surgical thoracic patients
• Familiarity with centralized telemetry monitoring systems
• Prior travel nursing experience in a stepdown or PCU setting
