Travel Registered Nurse – General Surgery (Telemetry)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Start Date: July 20, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed General Surgery unit, managing 6–7 patients per shift depending on assignment
• Perform and monitor telemetry, PCA, wound vacs, TPN, tube feeds, NG tubes, and IV therapies including heparin drips and IV antibiotics
• Care for post-operative patients across a range of surgical specialties including urology, bowel resections, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs
• Manage colostomies, urostomies, and various drains including biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, and CBI
• Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNA team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed and fulfill weekend shift requirements (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Experience with urology and bowel surgery patient populations
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad range of post-surgical patient populations including plastics, oral/maxillary, podiatry, and nephrectomy patients
• Familiarity with Baxter IV pumps, PEG tubes, and Dobhoff tube management
• Positive, energetic, and fast-paced work style with strong communication skills
