Travel RN – Operating Room / Surgery

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days – Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for cardiovascular (open-heart) surgical cases, with the ability to support general OR as needed
- Utilize the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of two years of CVOR (cardiovascular operating room) experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record charting required
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience supporting general OR cases in addition to cardiovascular surgery
