Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, and a 6-bed Fast Track area
  • Manage a diverse patient population including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke patients requiring TPA administration
  • Administer and monitor all common drips associated with a Level I Trauma environment
  • Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips and telemetry
  • Float to the observation unit and a freestanding emergency department at least once per week
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and support staff including nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
  • Ability to pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
  • Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
  • Valid driver's license required at time of submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • Experience in a Pediatric Certified or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
  • Familiarity with trauma bay workflows and ICU-level patient management
