Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions; assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services as needed; provide referrals based on patient outcomes.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders; communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary health team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes and maintaining patient records per policy; complete comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings; supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists as applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required.
• Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
• Active Texas State SLP License required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
• Adherence to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
• New graduates considered if Level II clinical experience has been completed (Level I observation experience alone is not sufficient).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of experience holding an active CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• Experience supervising CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists preferred.
