Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic Focus)

Winston-Salem, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patient populations
Manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients, staying proactive with pain management protocols
Perform IV starts and monitor telemetry for assigned patients within a 5–6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
Float to other Medical Surgical units within the facility as needed to meet staffing and census demands
Work every other weekend as required; any missed weekend shifts must be made up on a weekend
Complete block scheduling shifts (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday) as offered by the unit

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience with demonstrated orthopedic nursing experience required
Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
Current BLS (BCLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

ACLS certification
Charge Nurse experience
Level I Trauma experience
Experience with Epic EMR (required for first-time travelers to this unit)
