Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU (Travel)
Location
Carlsbad, New Mexico
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care in a 12-bed ICU setting with a 1:2–3 patient ratio
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients and administer titratable drips
- Mix and administer medications and perform patient hygiene care
- Float to Emergency Room and Medical-Surgical departments as needed per unit float rotation policy
- When floating to Med-Surg, take a full patient assignment of up to 6 patients or function in an aide capacity
- When floating to the ER, assist with call lights, medication passing, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Experience in Emergency Room and Medical-Surgical settings required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Willingness and ability to float to ER and Med-Surg departments
- Must be eligible for New Mexico state fingerprinting requirements (fingerprints required for all travelers; process may take several weeks — submitting agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene care
- Familiarity with MedHost EMR system
