Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU (Travel Contract)
Location
Carlsbad, New Mexico
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM | Floating Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care in a 12-bed ICU with a patient ratio of 1:2–3
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients and administer titratable drips
- Mix and administer medications and perform patient hygiene care
- Float to Emergency Room to assist with call lights, medication pass, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws as needed
- Float to Med/Surg and take a full patient assignment of up to 6 patients, or serve in an aide capacity covering up to 12 patients
- Document patient care using MedHost EMR; holidays required; no call required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Experience in Emergency Room and Med/Surg settings
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability and willingness to float to ER and Med/Surg departments
- Must be eligible to complete New Mexico state fingerprinting requirements (fingerprints required for all travelers in NM)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene in an ICU setting
- Familiarity with MedHost EMR
