Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48-Hour Contracts Available Upon Request)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a neurology and neuro-surgical patient population including CVA, elective back and neck surgeries, post-operative craniotomies, and cerebral angiograms, as well as general medical and psychiatric patients
• Perform and document NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screenings, and comprehensive neurological evaluations
• Initiate and titrate heparin drips; manage stable infusions and administer blood and blood products
• Perform venipuncture, blood cultures, straight catheterization, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube placement, and indwelling drain management
• Maintain strict intake and output monitoring and apply basic telemetry interpretation skills
• Float within skillset to sister campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats; may precept students and new hires as required

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Compact RN License
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum of two years of recent, strong neurology nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Trauma Level II experience
• Recent Epic EMR experience (checkoff class will be required upon start)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-operative craniotomy and cerebral angiogram patient care
• Demonstrated ability to manage change, work independently, and thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in a high-acuity neurology setting
