Occupational Therapist – Outpatient

Contract | Full-Time (1.0 FTE) | Day Shift | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination, and neurological status
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care incorporating manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise, and splinting fabrication and modifications
- Prepare and instruct therapeutic exercise programs and develop home programs tailored to patient needs
- Document initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, patient education, and discharge summaries in compliance with applicable policies
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pain management strategies, safety, and individualized plans of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and healthcare providers to coordinate education and treatment planning; perform Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Screens, and Driver's Evaluations as applicable
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (AOTA-accredited)
- Active Montana Occupational Therapist licensure
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Completion of a minimum of two hours of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
- Strong skillset in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, including shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands; splinting; and modalities
- Experience in neurological rehabilitation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of hospital-based occupational therapy experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting
- Demonstrated ability to perform Driver's Evaluations (if trained)
- Strong emotional intelligence with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
