Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, monitoring and managing patients with complex medical needs
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
  • Document patient assessments, care provided, and responses to treatment accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as clinically appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, with PCU or step-down unit experience strongly required
  • Current BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) may be required per unit standards
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or step-down setting
  • Familiarity with Labor and Delivery (L&D) clinical environments or cross-trained background
  • Experience working within a large regional referral or trauma center
