Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in long-term antibiotic therapy
• Manage and monitor patients with infectious disease diagnoses including endocarditis, osteomyelitis, sepsis, septic arthritis, abscesses, and diabetic foot infections
• Administer medications and carry out physician-ordered titration protocols as applicable
• Monitor patients via portable telemetry packs and respond to changes in patient condition
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity when assigned, managing a reduced patient load of 2–4 patients while overseeing unit operations
• Collaborate with care assistants who support vital signs, fingersticks, and assistance with activities of daily living

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong neurological assessment and care experience
• Ability to care for patients with complex behavioral needs, including those with active substance use or withdrawal histories
• Comfort working in a Medical Surgical (non-stepdown) environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for patients with substance use histories or behavioral health components in a medical setting
• Familiarity with infectious disease patient populations and long-term antibiotic treatment protocols
• Experience in a charge nurse or leadership role on a Medical Surgical unit
