Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown
Location

Contract | Days (4x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30) | Onsite | 13 or 26 week contract options available | 36 or 48 hour per week options available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced 49-bed cardiac specialty unit, including care for cardiovascular, heart and lung transplant, and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) patients
- Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
- Float to other units within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs, including potential float to an additional campus
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
- Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and working 2 of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated experience managing IV drips
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (required for first-time travelers to be considered)
